If you are running it of the mains the battery will charge up. It will not harm the computer or battery, I would recommend using the battery from time to time to run it flat and then plug the mains back in. You can also run the laptop off the mains without the battery in at no risk.

No, whilst you are running it off the mains it is charging the battery and the charging circuit switches off once maximum charge capacity is reached anyway so there is no danger of over-charging. Also, if there is a power failure whilst you are working, the battery will immediately kick in to save you from losing any data.

if you are running your laptop from an AC supply you should have taken the battery out. If you don't your laptop will start charging the battery and charging your battery repeatedly will significantly shorten its life (try charging your mobile phone battery repeatedly before the battery is flat if you doubt this). Always charge your battery only when it is almost flat.

No, keep the battery as it is. Unless you want to loose some data you're working on in case of a power failure. No harm to your battery since it runs on direct AC line.

No. It's perfectly safe.

It also keeps the battery charged and if there is a power cut or the spike you won't loose your work. I try and work on a laptop as much as I can as I've lost too much work from power related accidents.

it shouldn't do any harm to leave battery in..though every now and then, remove the power lead run the battery down then re-charge it when the low battery alarms start sounding.. keeps your battery in good health....

It does not matter, but keep the battery IN as this keeps it in charge, and if the should be a power cut you can keep working.and that way you don't lose any thing you may be working on
