Focus on yourself. What did you used to do .. perhaps something that you enjoyed that you've not indulged yourself in for a long time? Do it! Pamper yourself for a time. Spend time with people that you enjoy, that enjoy you also. Renew old friendships and explore new ones. When you find your mind slipping to the old emotional ruts, distract yourself with something you have planned that you'll do that is FUN. In doing that you'll remind yourself how positive your life is now compared to what it was, and the "bad thoughts" will eventually fade.

Oh man. this one is tough.

Letting go is the hardest, especially when you're alone or you have time to think about it. The very best thing you could do is busy up your life. Take a class, a music lesson, dance class, a sport, karate, or writing class, start learning that second language you always wanted to. Now's your chance, you've got a great reason to do something.

The more you have going on, the more opportunites you will have for new windows to open. Just expose yourself to the world in every way you can think of. It's hard to do when you're depressed, but you have to step up and Just Do it (sorry for borrowing the Nike slogan).

Good luck and hang in there!

Sometimes, good things end. That’s just the way life is. Sometimes, bad things continue due to neglect or fear. This ISN’T the way life should be!

If we guess correctly you're in either one of two situations.

One-- you're unhappy in your current relationship and are trying to decide whether to stay or go.

That's something that everyone has to do on their own time frame. Some people get over bad relationships a lot quicker than others.

I'll tell you what not to do: don't jump into another relationship! Even if you meet someone, they are just going to be your rebound guy and it will go nowhere.

Time (unfortunately, this is what it usually takes).

Active social involement (not just sexual but activites including sporting, recreational, etc) & form new friendships.

Take a good break from your current situation (eg. holiday) & come back refreshed & possibly have a new perspective on things.

Revamp yourself (shrug off you old self & create a new you - I dont mean be something your not but start a new mindset & think of the brighter future that is in front of you - not whats behind you).

Hope this helps...

never forget what made it so bad . remember the tears and pain but most of all remember you never want to feel like that again ,also give your self time. all wounds need to heal. heartbreak is a wound its very painful. take time to know your self !!! then try to understand how things got so bad. you are the 1 thing that is in all your relationships if you don't know yourself how will you ever get to know someone else? good luck

the sooner you let it go the sooner you can begin to live a better life. it will hurt like hell and you'll have to fight every urge to call him. but damn it you'll get over it and you'll be glad you're free. the next step is to walk away.
