Here is a chance for you Bush-backers to demonstrate that you can actually generate a thought. And, even though you will be wrong, you at least will have the satisfaction of knowing that you did it all by yourself.

We all know, that the (school drop- and/or flunk-out) conservative mouths Rush and Sean will turn North Korea’s nuclear test (6 years into Dubya’s reign) into one more Clinton administration accomplishment.

What will be the basis of this charge? Think quit now, airtime is only a few hours away?

Carla,

Repeating Rush and Sean’s previous lunacy is not exactly playing fair. However, it is a proven winning technique of the Right and trying to sneak it in is commendable. Next time however, don’t use THEIR nicknames for people. It blows your cover.

In any case, North Korea got everything from our old-pal and good-buddy Pakistan. You know, the country helping us track down Osama Bin-Laden while its citizens shelter and protect him.

Did you know that OBL was in Pakistan on 9/11? He was receiving dialysis treatment and remained in a Pakistan hospital for several days afterward - long enough for Colin Powell to seek extradition. But he managed to slip away into Afghanistan (no doubt carried on Clinton’s back).

You really do not know anything about any of this other than what you hear from partisan advocates, do you?

Good job of sliding the ‘But appeasement never works’, slam in there, especially since it is completely inaccurate and even contradicted by you own argument. What you describe is not ‘appeasement’.

But you know that, don’t you? I think so, because although not fresh, you argument does have validity. The only problem is, what could we have done? Probably nothing would have worked because by not using its muscle, China effectively covers NK with a protective shield – and China is too big to mess with unless we really have no other option.

So, it is kind of like the conservative argument against democrats regarding Iraq (“they don’t have a plan”). Sure, you can lay some of this on Clinton, but what realistic alternative was there – that NK would not have gotten around eventually, anyway? Still, good on slipping the ‘appeasement’ ting in there.

And really, Bush has ignored NK (other than calling it bad names).

itaq51-

Global warming is neither imaginary nor related to nuclear power testing. Bush-bashers are right mostly because everything Bush does IS wrong - and/or failure.

Afghanistan - lost (was winnable)
Iraq - losing and lost (never winnable)
War on terrror (losing, badly, winnable with police methods and intelligence)

I'm the farthest thing in the universe from a Bush-backer, but I've been around long enough to be familiar with their shortcuts to thinking. I think it will go something like this:

Bill Clinton had at least one chance to get Kim Jong Il, but he was too busy sticking cigars up Monica and Martha Stewart. It's also Jimmy Carter's fault because he was once a Naval officer who served only on atomic subs, and he could easily have commandeered any one of those warships and taken out North Korea way back then. He had tens of thousands of chances.

It was faulty intelligence from the left-wing CIA, DIA, DNI, NSC, NSA, and FBI that made Dubya always say that North Korea was "only a regional issue, something best left up to their neighbors to take care of." Otherwise, he'd never have said this for four of the the last six years. After all, he's the president, and it's his job to think after he acts. It's his job to protect the American people from democracy and other agents of chaos. North Korea has the bomb and a missile delivery system capable of reaching the western half of the US, so we should go and bomb Iran tomorrow to stop these Korean terrorists, to keep America safe from 9/11. And you're either with him or against him, there is no middle ground or dissent in a Democracy. That's why our brave forefathers came here.

And Michael Moore, Susan Sarandon, Martin Sheen, and Alec Baldwin should all move to North Korea if they like it so much.

I've been looking into this, and Clinton agreed to allow two light water nuke plants for peaceful purposes if NK agreed to inspections. These plants were never completed because of later charges of appeasement by congress/bush who blocked it. This upset Kim Jong ll, and he resumed a nuke weapon program that resulted in the test yesterday. It must be understood there is no connection between the light water plants and the test. NK had other reactors and other sources of bomb grade material that were earlier supplied by Russia and China - with crucial help from Pakistan on the bomb technology. Blaming Clinton makes no sense. Korea has no oil of it's own and nuclear power is one of the few options they have. It makes more sense to blame the congress/bush for stopping clintons progress, and Bush for calling NK part of the Axis of Evil, and refusing to negotiate in good faith. Kim Jong ll is pissed because he signed deals which Bush over-rode, and Bush has done nearly zero negotiating to try and fix the problem, making Kim even more angry. Thanks George, you've done it again.

How typical...you have already decided that what ever answers you receive will be wrong indicating that only Bush-Bashers can be correct. Arrogance of the liberal fanatics...by making personal attacks on those that disagree with them.

Perhaps you might challenge your mind & expand
your myopic view on anti-Bush ranting to the possible regional effects of NK becoming the 8th recognized nuclear power.

Of course I imagine that Al Gore will blame President Bush for the imagined increase in global warming that this underground test must have caused.

The North Korean nuclear arms build-up must be stopped. Otherwise, terrorists that they support could use their weapons to sow violence.

The Neocons were required by Rush to wear head-phones during summer camp with the words "CLINTON DID IT" playing repeatedly in their sleep. This was the first requirement of initiation into Neoconism.

Good one!

Thanks for mentioning the obvious about wilfully ignorant Neo-Con types being led by the nose by the propaganda masters.

And also how fair that you are willing to give them a chance to *try* and *think* on their own...

Go ahead Neo-Cons, take a few steps without your emotional crutches...
