how to get values from database when selecting combo in html onchange event ?

i want to load content from database when changing one combo which reflects another combo. without refreshing that page..

I am working in JSP currently.
Using hidden field and Javascript is there any possibility to achieve the same ?

You need to use some AJAX framework for that. If you had said the programming language you're working with, you could get a better description
