I'm from the old school. It was better in the 80's and 90's. Back then they rapped about social issues among other things.
Today, its all about "bling", cars, and booty.

Hip Hop in the present day has better production techniques, tighter beats and bigger budgets but in it's new guise it seems to have lost it's voice and need to address pressing social issues. Earlier hip hop also possesses a greater spirit of innovation and a willingness to experiment with various sounds and styles. Hip hop nowadays seems more like a paint by numbers genre with the occasional glimmer of a brilliant conscious artist springing up where, in the past, these occasional artists use to be the norm.

nowadays its about a whole lot of nothing. Old school rap is the best, it had a lot more meaning and feeling in it, now its all too materialistic
Im not saying all of it is bad or anything, but it used to be much better

I hate rap I persoanlly think it sucks I didn't know it had a game. But u should try metal it rocks! start out wit something like SLipknot, Breaking Benjamin or Metallica make sure it's the older Metallica though the new stuff is ****.

Keep in mind that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Me personaly i look at it like its a movie, i would much rather watch a bloody rated R movie(Gangster Rap) than Barnie and Friends big adventure(Snap Music)

well for the last time - i think rap these days is a lotta hogwash.. its just about my ride's bigger than yours, my crib this, i got soo many babes bla bla... yesterday's rap was a lot better..
