i was volenterring at a school last year and because i was still in school myself i didnt have to have one done but i left school in june just gone and have been told i need to have one done as it is illeagle for me to go in without one now. i understand that. i was just woundering how long it would take as iv been waiting for nearly 2 months will it be much longer?

It normally takes about 6 weeks on average but it could take longer depending on how correctly the form was completed.

My daughter just got hers for going into schools on her nursery nurse course. It took 3 weeks. It may have been quicker than usual as it was applied for through college.

Mine took a year and a half, b/c they kept losing my details ;-)
I think once they figured it out, though, it took about two weeks (from the London area).

shouldnt have taken that long had mine done and got it back 2 weeks ltr
think you need to contact who ever you sent it to quickly

it can take ages as they have a big backlog and Capita are incompetent
