(large but not fat person) and wears a 16.5 size shirt, your
trousers size is 34.

No one can really answer this as that may be the size u r on top but u may have a really large or really small bottom half. Why not just go to a real life shop and speak to a real life person and get measured?

take a measuring tape and measure ur hip size so that no one needs to guess and u'll be sure for ur self.
