Ok, me and this guy have had this casual thing for awhile now. Well, a week after the last time we saw each other, he text me. He wanted to meet up to talk. So I meet up with him and he tells me he didn't want a relationship but he can't not be with me. He wanted to know if I wanted to be in a commited relationship with him. After the shock, I agreed to give a relationship a try. Well, since than I have text him and he has not responded to my text. Normally, I would take that as a sign that he wasn't that interested but what he said and how he acted contradicts this belief. So is he interested or not? Did he really want a relationship pr not? I know it wasn't to get me into bed cause we've been there already. I'm so confused and a little p'd off.

Call me crazy but it sounds to me like he said, "I don't want a relationship but I can not be with you" I would have interpreted his comment as he wants to have casual sex with you and not a serious relationship. Did he say he wanted to be in a committed relationship? My experience is when a guy says they don't want to be in a relationship -they don't. There is no waiting around to see if you can change their mind. It usually doesn't work that way.

He's feeling guilty. He likes the casual relationship but feels he is using you in having it be casual so he is trying to do 'the right thing' by having a 'relationship' with you instead. Make it clear that you are okay with things the way they were or having a relationship with him. You just want to be with him and not have it be all weird. This should relieve the pressure he feels and he will be able to give you a straight up answer. I am a relationship type of guy but I am pretty rare. Most likely he will keep it casual and the relationship will fizzle out once one of you get into a real relationship.

My guess is that he's scared of his feelings for you. Guys tend to not be equipped to handle issues of closeness. If he's gotten cold feet, give him the opportunity to end things peacefully. But do expect for him to tell you where you stand. He opened the subject. He needs to follow through and let you know what his feelings really are, even if it's difficult for him to express those feelings. If he wants a relationship with you, he needs to do his part and act like it. If not, he needs to at least give it some closure and at least say good bye. Anything less, he's a jerk and you have a right to be POd.

Pick up the phone and call him! You'll get the gist of his feelings when you speak to him. A txt (like an email) are horrible ways to convey emotions. Something that sounds perfectly fine to the sender, sounds abrupt and usually snarky to the receiver.

rule out that he is lying in a ditch somewhere and that he doesn't have amnesia. sounds like he might have been testing you to see if you were cool with the friends with benefits thing you already had going. and when he asked if you would be in a commited relationship with him he got scared.

Hi Nel, Maybe he is scare because he really likes you,but really doesn't want to get that serious.Give him alittle time and if things stay the same,it's time to move on.

eih it's obviously playing with you...you had a serious talk and suddenly you're in a relationship with this guy who doesn'y know what he wants...it's just so disappionting that after all the efforts you showed he got the nerve to ignore it...you better find another guy who deserve all you efforts...and love...
