I fairly recently had the clutch, stick, master and slave cylinders replaced. Probs shifting, so I brought it back got it taken care of. Same week back for oil change and all that. Day later driving to work (on the highway) and it starts making this clicking noise towards the front of the car, but doesn't sound as far as the engine. Doesn't click when I take it out of gear. But then it goes away for a few months. Just started clicking again, but only when I drive it on the highway and it is loud now. When I drive in the city it has no probs. I fear it is the tranny, but I can't afford to get raped buy repairs again, and when would anything on the tran not be expensive.
Any solution? Even if I keep it off the highway, is it something that has to be taken care of soon, or at all?
I promised my husband I wouldn't waste my money on it anymore. Should I try to sell it again for a huge loss in what I've put into it or should I just run it into the ground?

Your clutch work should be under warranty. Have them check it. something could be loose. If this shop gives you any trouble then take it to a dealer to have diagnosed. It is a complex driveline and takes experience to properly diagnose it. If it is related to the clutch repair then have the other shop fix for free. I owned a 944 for years 180,xxx and still going today. What kills these cars are inexperience shops. I've seen many mistakes with the drivelines and timing belts, etc. But do get it checked out. Good luck.

it sounds like a u-joint is going bad. it is on each end of the drive shaft and if you don't have it checked (really easy to do) it may fall apart and sound like you're driving a tank. they may need to be greased or replaced. to check them, put emrgency brake on , put in neutral, reach under the car and twist the drive shaft hard. if it sounds like a clunk in either direction, you may need them replaced. twisting will let the u-joints work firm or slightly loose which is the cause of the clunking sound. the clicking is the needle bearings when one or more has worn out or been lost and allows the other needles to move around instead of being in firmly. the repair is simple but if your husband doesn't know how, take it to a mechanic.cost is about a hundred dollars to replace them and takes about two hours. a dealership would run much higher.

Your car has a unique Drive line system called a Torque Tube and it is enclosed from the Engine in front to the rear of the car
it is very difficult to service and does not sound as it may be your problem. (very expensive too) It is time to take your lumps...
this car is going to be difficult to sell because it is known for its
constant breakdowns and huge repair bills.... Park it...Sell it..
Junk it... but please don't put anymore money into it..

it truly is totally no longer likely to be a CV joint as frequently in easy terms the front outdoors CV's placed on. it truly is maximum possibly a wheel bearing. grab the wheel and push precise and backside, section to section and spot if the wheel strikes. it might possibly no longer circulate in any course. If it does, it truly is a bad wheel bearing.

prolly valves sticking...try a petroleum distillate to quiet noisey valves...if the clicking is incredibly loud you might have a serious problem like a harmonic balancer or something along those lines, and need to bring it to a mechanic ...gl...
