Dharma means one's natural duty. For example, it is fire's duty to burn. Similarly for a human, the natural duty is to reach Nirvana i.e. personal liberation.

In other words, Dharma means Natural Law or Reality. It's way is considered the Way of the Higher Truths.

Dharma forms the basis for various traditions. In these traditions, beings that live in harmony with Dharma proceed more quickly toward Nirvana.

Dharma Means The Religion. In Hindu Religion there are number of terminology like work, duty, responsibility, courage, Forgiveness, Peace, when you follow or adopt this things in your day to day life to live that becomes your Dharma. As I Know.

Dharma means you are following and living your life according to given principles by the Hindu Religion.

Dharma means Righteous action or action prescribed for an individual in performing his legitimate duty. For Eg the Dharma of a soldier is to attack the enemy and defeat him. He may kill the enemy or may get killed in the process both are good dharma for him as he has taken up being soldier as his profession.
So is the case of a butcher who kills many animals. Since it is his occupation he is doing his dharma.

In the Hindi language, it loosely means religion.

But in the Hindu philosophy, Dharma means the sacred duties one is ordained to and expected to perform - and what you actually perform is Karma. So it is that Karma should obey and be in accordance with Dharma.

Dharma is sometimes considered duty. We all have a specific dharma that we should discover and follow and as I understand it dharma cannot necessarily be judged as good or bad. Your dharma may be to be a warrior which would require you to kill and conquer in order to fufill your life's duty.

Dharma is the deeds you do in life, especially all good things you do compassionately & unconditionally in life to make your life worthwhile and for which you'll be granted with good Karma.
