I have a two-stroke engine that asks for 50:1 gas:oil. If i don't have the tools to make an exact ratio, is it better to be richer on the oil, or richer on the gas?

Use more oil...not gas. Too much oil and you only foul the spark plug...replacement = a couple bucks. Too much gas and you will burn up the piston , rings , and cylender...cost to replace = big bucks. In the long run simply do the math to get the correct ratio of 50:1 mix. good luck and have a good day.

Go to Wal-mart in the Boat Stuff Aisle and they have beakers for
just a few bucks.. not enough oil will burn your piston and liner
and make for a costly mistake...
