Look there r so many types of protocols in win 2k. Like TCP/IP for windows , NwLINK for Novell (IPX/SPX), ICMP , RIP etc.

commonest is the TCP/IP Protocol in preserving with 4 Layers of verbal change - software,Presentation , Transportation and community . An IP handle is given for diverse talking machines . yet another protocol is SPX/IPX - it isn't as regular as TCP/IP. A Protocol favoured through MicroSoft is NETBEUI .
