Every President receives a naval vessel named after them. I don't know if it's always an aircraft carrier, but everyone gets something. With the exception of President William Henry Harrison, who only served a month.

yes I like Bill Clinton. heck, he did a hell of a better job than George W's is doing.

But NO. In fact, no Aircraft Carrier should be named after a living President. It should be an honor reserved for when they die.

Besides, there would be too many jokes if a carrier was named after Clinton.

I don't know if i would like to have a device that only serves the purpose of destruction being named after me.

GOP leaders have less scruples. Condi Rice had an oil tanker named after her, but that seems to be signifying for a party that is founded on oil.

I am a very, very liberal person, and I do not like Bill Clinton at all. I am very happy to have never voted for him or his successor. Clinton, not unlike Saddam Hussein, come to think of it, will have many things named after him. It is part of the game of being famous and influential. We can't really care much. Let people call the avenue what they will and try to somehow be true to the youth, who are not at all responsible for the moral failings of their predecessors.

I don't really know. Clinton did not serve in the US Military as he was only briefly in ROTC beofer he resigned over protest about the Vietnam war, unless you count him as being the Commander In Chief.

Bush the elder after all WAS a Navy pilot, but I really thought you had to be either near death or long gone to have a US warship or Military vessel named after you.

I doubt it will happen now, but who knows about the future?

The USS Clinton.

A submarine would be a better choice.

I liked Clinton. I think he did a lot of good for our country (besides that nasty stain thing)...unlike the bungling fool we have in the house now.

Compare to George W Bush, I found him to be a great leader.
I am partial about having a carrier named after him. But certain we can name a cigar brand after him.

Clinton was a decent president but he was an idiot at hiding things. If the Lewinsky thing never happened and if he had managed to kill USAMA then yes.
