I never get scared by movies. I would have to say "The grudge" only because of the creepy nasty kid and black hair. Kids are the scariest in movies! Demonseed!

I really didn't like the fact that the spirit could follow the people it intends to kill, even if they were already outside of the house.

I haven't watched too many, but The Ring really freaked me out. For the longest time I couldn't walk past a tv at night without looking behind me and picking up my pace! haha!

another old jap movie "Uzumaki" (Spiral) comes second (but i didn't manage to finish it, too creepy watching it alone on tv)

Yeah the Japanese Grudge (Ju-On) was awesome. Also the original Japanese version of The Ring.
