Is it illegal to purchase pain killer online without a prescription? We have come accross quite a few websites that will sell it via different methods, some of them without prescriptions which we were under the impression of that being illegal?!

Yes, it is illegal and the federal government will come down on these sites hard. I know you cannot purchase them in Mexico legally without a scrip and bring them over the border. You get in trouble. There, you can buy without a prescription. But you better have a legal, verifiable scrip when you cross back into the US.

The key phrase here is "WITH A PRESCRIPTION". You see, all prescriptions now must be written in triplicate. Antibiotics as well as painkillers, especially oxycontin must have one copy for the doctors records, one must be submitted to the FDA/Government and one to the patient. If a doctor writes too many of the types of prescriptions you described, they will check out the doc and see why. They will shut him down.

Those online pharmeceutical companies must verify your prescription before they can send you anything like what you have described. The Feds will come and check you out too if you are getting too many prescriptions for narcotics and might arrest you for possession of illegal narcotics. The feds actually patrol the internet, place those types of ads just to see who will respond and bust them when delivery is complete. there is bigger picture than I think you see. Beware!!!!! In a way, if you think about it, it's like when your doctor asks you what drug store you are going to use and they call it in to that pharmacy or the pharmacy calls the doc's office to verify the scrip. Know what I mean? If these online places ever tried to sell to you without a prescription, the FDA and a number of other law enforcement agencies would be on them like stink on chit. Know what I mean? So, yes, it is illegal to sell prescription drugs to people without a legal prescription.

Another little point to remember too. Pharmeceutical companies are some of the richest in the world and they're not going to stand by and let some internet counterfeit drug seller butt into their business. They will knock them right out of the ring and they can be nice or they can hunt you down and kill your butt without anybody knowing why or who. They have so much money, they can do anything they want to little counterfeit operators on the internet.

No, not legally. Unless you mean OTC painkillers like aspirin, paracetemol or cocodamol, which I presume you don't. Buying online drugs from dodgy sources is risky - you never know if they have the full pharmaceutical potency they're described as having, whether they're more powerful than they should be, whether they were legitimately produced, or what other ingredients they were cut with. If your pain is very severe, go back to your doctor and tell him so. He may prescribe additional or acompanying pain medication if he thinks it's appropriate and necessary.

About 3 months ago,Dateline NBC did a story about counterfeit pharmaceutical drugs being sold online.Counterfeiting drugs is BIG business. They even reached CVS drug stores, they were so real in every way that they could not tell the difference. Some of them were nothing more than lead based dried up paint.I would not do something that stupid, just to get a buzz.Remember, the patriot act, allows the government to monitor all internet transactions, especially counterfeiting drug rings, which could be traced straight to your mail-box if you bought any.I was addicted to everything, and I will tell you that after all the experiences are over it is best to stick with life on life's terms.PEACE AND GOOD LUCK!!!

here in the U.S. you have to have a prescription for that. if found purchasing something like that in any way or kind you can and will be prosecuted and also the person or company you purchase them from. it is basically the intent to purchase or sell a controlled substance. it is highly addictive and if not taken properly it can harm or kill,,this is why it is a controlled sub,,,reason for why you cannot just go out and buy them any where.

Different countries have different rules. If you look on whois.org you will see that these companies are NOT located in the US. They are in other countries, and if they send you something that is not up to US standards, and it ends up harming you, you have no way of seeking damages against them, assuming of course you're still alive to do so. It' s never a good idea to take shortcuts like that in order to save a little money.

I would think it's illegal. I think the charge would be "obtaining a controlled substance without a prescription"

china is big on this. most of the time that stuff is counterfeit, but you generally cant tell the difference. as for selling controlled substances to residents in the US, there is probably a legal concern to be had. as in you would need to ship them to another foreign address in order to obtain them
