eaten by predators (especially pet cats), being poisoned (raptors eating poisoned prey), freezing to death, heat exhaustion, dehydration, or exhaustion (during migration), hit by cars, hit by wind turbines, flying into windows, and a few can indeed die of old age.

i'm sorry on your loss. i've got had 3 birds pass away, and that i've got self assurance merely such as you probably did. One chook (Cloud) died, and prefer Sparrow I rescued him. it incredibly is adverse, yet some techniques you are able to recover from it (no longer which you would be able to ever recover from it) are assisting different birds, at a organic international rescue place, or an animal look after. Or, you are able to set up a memorial fund for Sparrow through PETA, and the money would be used to save different birds. whilst the time comes, it fairly is a solid concept to get yet another chook, exceptionally a rescue. i've got self assurance your soreness, and that i'm hoping i became of a few use to you. ~LoveVelo And Charles, needless to say you have in no way had a puppy die, so flow away.

Birds have a certain lifecycle. some live for only 2 years and die of natural factors like physical weaknesses. Some might be vulnerable to the scorching sun and so might become overheated/dehydrated, just like us humans. some can even die from eating a poisonous food.

"Birds, like many other creatures, will seek secluded, out-of-the way places when they're feeling sick. Sometimes, rest and seclusion help them heal. But if they die, very often they won't be found in their hideouts.
Of course, in nature, things work in a strange tandem. Predators, like cats and foxes, can usually seek out these hideouts for prey. And often, these predators will take the prey back to feed their young, which is why it's so rare to find the remains of dead birds."

Actually, animals can die of age. Birds can too. That's all i know but i think that animals can die the same as humans can.

the birds get old and die because of illness.... the birds [ and all wild animals know when they are dieing] and usually go and hide to die so that is Way you do not see them....even cats know when they are dying and sometimes leave their humans and die alone..sometimes they leave for awhile and then come back and say goodbye and then leave again........

Birds die of all sorts of causes, old age being one of them! Birds die of diseases (eg. the West Nile Virus), cancer (yup!), flying into windows (I've seen it happen), birds are killed by other predators, etc. You dream it up, it's happened.

getting eaten, freezing to death, diseases like west Nile virus or coccidioses, poisoning from pesticides. Many of the dird carcases are eaten by other animals right away. If they are in grassy areas or woods they are sometimes(if small) buried by sexton beatles which lay eggs on them that hatch into larvae that eat them
