Deborah said "The Yankees are just a conglomeration of the best players from many teams, bought by Steinbrenner. Except for Jeter, Posada and a few others. ...."

Actually the list goes Jeter, Posada, Bernie, Rivera, Cano, Wang, and I think Caberera and thats off the top of my head.

The image that the Yankees don't draft well is just wrong. Look at the 2004 WS champs - the only player on that roster that played more 20 games that was drafted by Boston was Trot Nixon.

Hey Detroit came out hungry and fired up and knocked the Yankees on thier ***. Congrats to them. Leland played the " Everyone says that we don't belong here" song over and over again, but that won't work against fellow underdog Oakland. I've heard people write off the Tigers in the next round already.

That's a mistake. Should be a good series but I the WS title is going to the NL this year.

The Yankees are just a conglomeration of the best players from many teams, bought by Steinbrenner. Except for Jeter, Posada and a few others. When was the last World Series game won by the Yanks? 5 or 6 years ago? 7? I can't even remember anymore. Times change. But Steinbrenner doesn't.

It's about time someone (like MY Tigers) knocked the Yankees off their butts. The Tigers deserved to win, I am still shocked at how bad the Yankees played. This is not like them. But, hey, the best time did win! World Series, here we come! Bless you Boys!!! DebbieDet as in Detroit!

Does it matter? I don’t think so, what matters is the here and now, not the past. The fact is the Tigers beat the Yankees to progress to the next round, end of story. Yankees are done for the season better lucky next year.

Just for Info they won in 1984 but i dont know if that is the last time they won if it was who cares, how long did the sox go before winning.

My apologies to REAL yankee fans who are respectful.

This is why I react the way I do.

To answer your question:

The 2006 ALDS Champion Detroit Tigers have PROUDLY won 4 world series, and have lost 5.

Oh I just knew there would be a jealous Yankees fan in in the bunch! I remember last week all of them asking us if we were going to pout and post messages like this when Detroit lost. Sorry Bub, This is a different team and they couldn't cut it, end of story.

1935, 1945, 1968, 1984

But how about another question what was the amount spent per playoff win so far this year:

Yankees 199 Mill per win
Tigers 27 Mill per win and counting should easily be 1/10th or even 1/20th the Yankees number by the time the playoffs are over.

We're sorry if us Yankees fans are having a difficult time dealing with losing. We haven't had as much practice dealing with it as most of you have. Maybe if we go 19 years without making the playoffs or 80+ years without winning a World Series, we'll be better equipped to handle it.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Four, but does it really matter? The Yankees don't get number 27 this year, that's for sure. Maybe the Tigers get number five or the Mets get number three...and wouldn't **that** frost you Steinbrenner fans?

So who will of' George try to buy off next? Ichiro? Or maybe Carlos Guillen, who is hot while Alex Rodriguez is not...of course I don't think there is a team owner in his right mind who would want to take A-Rod off Steinbrenner's hands. It serves them both right.

Like it matters. We're here and you are not. Remeber it has been one heckuva drought for us and no matter who says what we are going to relish in this and enjoy it for as long as it lasts AND appreciate it and not EXPECT it to happen! I was there in '68 and there in '84 and this year it is the sweetest of all even if we don't get any farther!

GO TIGERS!
