There are multiple definitions of IQ. The question is in reality, how rare is Steven Hawking? On a 15 SD scale, the highest possible score is 195, which is about 1 in 8 billion. Steven is very bright, but so are others that I have met and sorting out the top few is a very subjective task. The sample size consisting of the scientists in one part of the world is too small to make valid comparisons. Hawking could have 10 peers in the jungles of Borneo that the world would never know about. I think that 177 (top 1000) is a safe lower bound and any guess above that is pure speculation.

im 13 and recently took an iq test and got 166, qhich was quite astounding to begin with but it was probably a fake one anyway . (www.iqtest.com) its not the actual test but its as close as i could get for 30 seconds of searching.
i reckon his iq is around 230-260/70, my dad is a neurosurgeon and he knows him and hes got his thumbprint in a book somewhere and i dont even know why im doing this thingy....
