My wife spends around 16 hours a day on the internet making websites and helping other people develop theres too.

We both go to bed at the same time and I wake up around 6.30 in the morning to get the kids ready for school, but she doesnt get out of bed until about 11-12 as she claims she has had a bad nights sleep?

Could the long amount of times she is spending in front of a monitor be affecting the way she sleeps?

You should have her discipline herself, or you put an order there, she shouldn't be on the computer 16 hrs a day, that's ridiculous, she needs to re-set her clock, sitting down for such long periods of time is unhealthy as it is unhealthy her bad habits, the reason why she gets up so late it's because she doesn't have any set or established patterns, does that mean she doesn't spend any time with your kids? Not a good thing, she needs to start getting up early like you at 6 am and go to bed by 10 tops, she can do it, when you get up late and go to sleep late, it creates negative emotions and things get distorted in general, my Dr. told me so, and many other people, I used to be like that and the moment I changed it, I felt so much better. Have her change this as it could really make things go bad in a marriage. She'll need to make a good effort, have her take melatonin before going to bed, to break this bad habit. She needs to be involved more in the home and you.

I think everyone has some or the other awkward routine. So it is upon how you think. If you say today I cannot work means you are not feeling well. So in order to change this kind of thinking first of all try to concentrate what you are doing and want to do. Try to make a routine chart and work on it ... if it is not possible for you then opt for some yoga or art of living of living classes. But I will suggest to make yourself control Your mind by your own will. And you can do it Aim sure............

I do the same thing...Its addictive..just like anything else. I turn my computer on before I even go to the bathroom in the morning... I have two of them..one next to my bed and one in the living room but the again..I work from home as well..maybe its her social life..I don't have friends outside the home so its her link to something besides the house.

i find if i spend a great deal of time on the computer my eyes start to burn......especially if i have been on continiously for an extended time.....it actually helps me sleep not works against it......my brother is a contracting programmer and on the computer literally all of his awake time...he has no prob sleeping either so based on this i would say its not the actual computer....maybe its the type of mental strain the job can give you.....or maybe she just needs more sleep......

It's not the monitor that's keeping her up, it's the workload and the type of work: creating, designing, coding. Whew, take her out for dinner and movie!
