I'm trying to learn how to play the guitar. Everytime I try to play any chord (first I tried g Major) I press other strings! I have yet to play any chord correctly. I get such an awful sound! My fingers aren't fat at all. I think my posture is correct (according to the video). Maybe my fingers aren't flexible enough? I dont' know. I'm ready to throw my new guitar out the window!!!

try starting with an A major or a D major, where your fingers are already supposed to be close together. if your fingers aren't strong and you're trying to play an open G chord, i can see how your fingers might touch and mute the strings that are supposed to be open. everyone's hands are pretty much suitable to play the guitar. good luck.

Your fingertips are still soft and youre still learning. Lots of practice will help you with that.
Try curving your hand and fingers up and over the strings in a more vertical position. It wont be real comfortable but may help to avoid the other strings. :)

All you need is to work at it and pay atension to where your fingers are. It would not hurt for you to get a trainer eather to help you.

Good Luck!!

I know how you feel, I am learning how to play as well.
