why we will not get shock in the other end

it depende on the amount of the current in that wire if its of very very high order we will definitly get shock at other end but as the water in river is so high quantity we dont get shock at other end

When you pass an electrical current through a beaker of water it can flow eaily, and the water appears to be an electrical conductor; however a river will not act in the same way;

Electrical current always wants to get to Earth; which is why if you stick your finger into a plug you will get a shock; as long as you are touching the ground. If you put a elecrtical current into a river, it will flow straight into earth (via the water in the river) ; rather than down the river to the point at the other end.

Thus you will not recieve a shock at the other end of the river. Hope this helps

Electricity flows from a source (such as your wire) to a ground return (such as the Earth) or the other wire of your two conductor cable from the electrical outlet.

Electricity also takes the shortest possible path it can make from one point to another. So, if your two conductor wire had wires spaced 1/2 inch apart, the current would flow from one wire - across the 1/2 inch via water - to the other wire. It would not flow up river, or down river.

If you were only using the "Hot" wire side of the electrical circuit, and the source of the electricity was grounded to the Earth, then the electricity would seek the nearest good route to Earth ground. That might be any place along the bottom of the river, or any power outlet box that had a ground stake installed along side of it. the electricity would select any suitable ground it chose close by - the path of least resistance.

Most likely enough current would flow in this circuit from a "hot" wire to ground that the circuit breaker or fuse in the source circuit would blow and interrupt the circuit. If there was no circuit breaker or fuse in the circuit, the wires you were holding would become red hot with the high flow of current and the insulation on the wires would melt and catch fire. This is often the cause of electrical fires in houses and boats.

You won't get a shock if you run DC current through water; the resistance is too high.

You'll get a shock with AC, because the resistance is lower with that.

You won't get a shock when using either of them with a river, because the more water there is between you and the wire, the greater the resistance. There's a big difference between the length of a river and, say, a puddle or a cup of water that might normally cause you to be shocked.

We might! Recently a young couple died of electric shock in a river in Crete, where a wire had broken and fallen in the river some distance away.

Then also you get the shock if you put your finger close to where you put the live wire.

How close? Well that can be computed by knowing resistence of the water. The resistance of water would depend on what salts are disolved in it and how much.

No. You wont get a schock because the river runs on the ground and it is connected to the earth. Once earthed all the charges will flow to the ground and not through the river,

Because the water is not a good conductor of electricity.
Pure water is poor conductor of electricity. But when some electrolyte is present in water it can conduct electricity. It also depends on the voltage applied.
