i have a boyfriend of 2 years that i love, but my family dislikes him just because his parents financial status is below ours. He went to public school and basically lived his life has little knowledge in foreign languages and stuff where my parents sent me to private boarding schools where i learned 3 foreign languages...sometimes its gets hard for me as well when we go out or dine in expensive places he seems like giving all the money he had, it tears me apart and i try to cook at his house but as it goes on the money problem is increasing, my friends dont say anything because they know we love each other. Since we are always together my boyfriend drives my car and my mom hates it and i am afraid that we might end up apart because of this money problem what shall i do?

As long as you love each other then don't worry about the money. When you go out on dates, don't go to expensive restaurants.. and as for your parents, they aren't dating him, you are.. so you have to be with someone you love and who makes you happy. Talk to your parents about it, and tell them that you really like him, and he's a great guy. If your parents don't like him driving your car, well, maybe you shouldn't let him drive. It's your car, and your parents are probably paying for it, so at least respect their wishes on that.

If you can't love someone for who they are instead of their financial situation, you are a shallow person and should probably leave him and hope he finds someone who is capable of caring on a much less materialistic level.

**Edit**

I went to Leelanau academy, a private boarding school for the rich little brats, so their parents could get rid of them for a while... My family is very wealthy as well, and my father disapproves of anyone who is "Lesser than he is" in his eyes.

Does that mean I have to follow his example? Am I my father? No. I base my feelings on how a person acts and treats me, not how much money they have or how well brought up they were.

It honestly astounds me that a person could go through life with those kind of morals. Makes no sense to me what-so-ever.

For starters don't go to expencive resturants...

Love should not be hindered by anything but the lack of itself. Perhaps your feeling of uncertainty is due to the fact that your perception of love is clouded by your parents influence on the importance of money.
