Well if this is something she wants for her or is this something you want to do together? I have a hobby that is for me, I make quilts. I love to make them and give them as gifts. Hubby thinks i should sell them but I just can't sell them have to know they are in a good home ...lol. My hubby and I have a hobby together, we ride our Harley together every chance we get.
But, really she has to find her own hobby. I do think its sweet you are trying to help her. The world needs more men like you.

Does she like spending time at the computer? If so,she might find genealogy a fascinating pastime. If she is on the crafty side she might enjoy jewelry making (bead stringing) or working with polymer clay. Both of these crafts can be self-taught with the purchase of one book at the craft store and a few inexpensive supplies. Ebay is a fabulous source of supplies for any craft imaginable so she might want to check this out and see what looks interesting.

Have no idea what your wife does or likes to do.
But, she could take up a cooking class on some foreign cuisine. Photography. Maybe yoga or belly dancing.
Join a book club. If she's into the artsy stuff...gosh...take her to a big art outlet and let her look around. Learn to play piano or an instrument. Learn a new language. Teach or read to preschoolers or such. So many many many things to do.

She could buy some beads and stones from craft stores online and start making jewelry - necklaces and bracelets, etc - plus she could always sell them when she got good at it. I do this and it is fun, keeps me busy, they all come out really nice and people love them so when I started to wear them - they wanted to buy them.. I am in NY but we have Michaels here or AC Moore I think it is called - both craft stores but there are tons of stores online that carry nice pendants and stones to use as well.

She could also start doing some scrapbooking (same stores for supplies) or taking & developing pictures - (photography) - another hobby that I enjoy.
:o)

Get in contact with local council in your area they have Community College classes running all year round. They publish a booklet and are also on-line. I know of two Strathfield community college or North west community college this is around the Hills district. They cover all types of subjects eg leadlighting, dressmaking, oil/watercolour painting, all types of cooking, car maintenance, carpentry etc you should be able to find something for her to take an interest in.

I'm on the scrapbooking band-wagon... it's a good way to use your creativity and have something awesome to show for it. Gotta love a trip down memory lane! Maybe she can make you a cool book for you and your vintage sports cars!

If she is so inclined, I would ask her to take a look at the movements of the stock markets. She will probably be able to teach herself as most women are excellent at seeing things that will have continued demand, then buying. Imagine how proud she would feel making a tidy profit on the sharemarket, all because she learned how all by herself.

She could collect stuff. Anything really from stamps to tea-pots to antique jewelry, whatever.

Me, I collect vintage, out of print, hard to find, CD's of 1980s Punk and New Wave bands.

There's a ton of stuff to do. Ceramics, photography, bingo, beadwork, calligraphy, gardening, and birdwatching. She could go to craft stores like Michael's or JoAnn's if they are in your area, and just take some of their classes to see what she likes. Or just go up and down the aisles for ideas.
