just curious who would win in a fight the Doberman or the German Shepard ( dont worry I dont have dogs fights)besides my wife would kill me if I got a Doberman

Either Dog can be good with Kids !
We had a Shepard when I was small and it was around threw my 4 other brothers and sisters ( all younger than me)
I had a Doberman when my first child was born and he did fine with him and when the girl was born.
But as stated before depends a lot on the breeder, lot of inbreeding going on known or unknown in ALL breeds. If you want a dog that is good with kids get a Lab, or a Golden Retriever

I would answer neither, so many cases of each getting in the bed with a baby and killing the baby. If u must have a dog get a toy, it can bite but at least not usually kill! Please get a toy if u have a baby!!!
Lots say shepard but understand a shepard-even tho smart-r smart enough to know baby is number 1! and are very jealous in nature.

FYI -- Hitler stopped using Dobermans in combat because they were smart enough to drop and play dead when they heard gun fire. Shepards kept going. Ultimately, Dobermans were used to protect the inner circle and the SS.
What does that tell you relative to smarts?

I would have to say a doberman, I have had both, infact still have a doberman.... My doberman, is a very strong dog, and a loving one at that, and yes a very protective dog, he loves and plays with my kids, and protects them.... alot of peopl think of a doberman, and they think mean, viscious,attack, but that is not always the case,any dog can be mean viscious, and can attack, and any dog can turn on you... but in my opinion, i would go with a doberman

german shepards, labs, shepard and lab mix are good with children and are loving animals....dobermans are high strung and will turn on their master and kids very fast...one day these dogs are ok with the family and the next minute they can become mean and dangerous to everyone..other animals also...........
