I work with a woman I absolutely can’t stand. She is loud, very rude, irritating and drives me crazy!

She speaks on the phone in another language when we are an English speaking environment and I personally think that is extremely rude.

She will also yell across the room when I am on the phone dealing with customers and it's extremely irritating.

I've made numerous complaints to my boss before but nothing ever gets done about it because he says "That's just her culture and the way she is."

I think that's absolute bull just because she's from another country make it ok to be rude to people?!

I need some advice on what to do before I either quit my job or kill her! Help!!!

If there isn't a rule that she can't speak in a different language, then she's doing nothing wrong, whether you think it's rude or not. You've approached your boss, but have you spoken with her about it in a comfortable, open safe environment? What do the other workers think? If it's only you that is upset, then you are the one with the problem.

Your mentioned situations - are they experienced by all other co-workers, or only you? She might not know all of the mentioned, as it's 'her' (her personality and culture). If all other co-workers shared the same view, suggest you all have a meeting with her; objective being how to make the office environment a conducive one for ALL. When you have this meeting, remember DO NOT ATTACK HER AS A PERSON, but on her actions instead (how they are affecting the rest of the team). Good luck, happy working :-)

I hear what your saying but I have to say to you that it sounds like you need to be alittle more tolerant of other people. If your co-worker is not breaking any rules and is a good worker then YOU'RE the one with the problem not her. Perhaps you should try to seek ways to like her instead of ways to get irritated with everything she does. If she is bothering you that much maybe you should examine yourself and stop looking for problems with others. Be a nice co-worker. Remember...she's a foreigner in your world. Try to be a nice American.

take the opportunity to move on to what you're really suppose to be doing in life. you're intelligent and self assertive and the time has come to for you to start that business or that other job. don't let people dictate what should and shouldn't offend you. stop whining and suck it up !was 1 answer. this just proves that some are willing(yuck) to let others think for them! not for you!! go get it sister! your opinion is valid. and there's ways to make money without the corporate bull----

If your boss or ceo doesnt want to deal with the disruptive coworker....and you might tell him/her that...asked to be moved to another department or area where your work environment will be peaceful. So much fear of employers about speaking to a disruptive employee for whatever reasons. If he/she cant come up with some viable solutions, maybe you can. Ask your boss to please give this person written notices on disruptive behavior in the work environment. I hope you find a peaceful solution. Keep smiling kiddo. ;)

Just tell her to shut up cos your on the phone to a customer, if she complains to the boss, he'll see the customers don't wanna hear that on the phone, and hopefully he'll get the shits with her too. If that fails, get as many of your friends to call as you can, and get them to make complaints about her, go higher than your boss if they can, so he has to justify her actions, therefore he'll hate her.

Suck it up, stop whining! If you are there to do a job, then do it! Stop letting your personal opinion of others interfere, especially about trivial things!

If this kind of thing bothers you now, then you have a lot of surprises in store for you at future jobs! Work is just that, work, it's not a social gathering, and you need to be mature!

Hey, you should not have to put up with her. If your boss is to stupid to do anything look for another job or just become annoying and tell that pig of a woman off or better yet kick her butt!!!!!!!

With the permission of your boss, the next time she speaks loudly, ask if she noticed that Americans speak quietly. Ask her to please lower her voice when she talks. Explain, in her country, it is appropriate, but, in America, it is NOT our custom to speak loudly and it is very rude to do so.
