Becuase some people are not happy with their current relationship and see it as a way out.

Some people are scared of committing to the one person and will always cheat, people like this should not be in long term relationships, they should stay single but they want the best of both worlds, the security of a steady relationship but also the excitement of having affairs. I always say if you are going elsewhere in a relationship then it is doomed and the person should have the balls to be honest and end it, unfortunately that doesn't happen most of the time.

They simply don't have high morals or a conscience. They also don't love their partner as much as they think they do but they just don't have enough respect for them to let them go before finding someone else. Often it's a fear of being on their own. It's quite sad really for both sides but it's the cheater that loses out in the end. You only need to cheat once to get a reputation as a cheater and then people tend not to want to touch you with a barge pole because they will have heard about your inability to stay faithful

Some rationalize it, saying they feel ignored, or are stressed out and need a release or need to feel attractive/young, what have you. And these same people are OK to cheat, but god forbid if they get cheated on, then they lose it.
Some people are too lazy to break things off or like the setup they have too much to really let go because it means that they will have to fend for themselves, find their own place, pay their own bills, that kind of thing. Change is scary for these types.

No respect for other peoples feelings,no morals,no principals,selfishness,AND because if it is handed to them on a plate-they are going to take it.It takes two to cheat(more than two if it is in a "swinging" environment-and YES,that's cheating too,its just a convenient moniker which allows partners/couples to cheat and get away with it under the guise of sexual experimentation!)which means that all cheaters are weak minded individuals who are controlled by lust and very little else.Bath scum the lot of them.

i have cheated on everyone (bar my 1st bf) ive been out with, including my current boyfriend. yet i still tell him i love him and i mean it.
i only cheat with ex bfs, not of course that that makes any difference.
also im very lonely, i hardly know anyone where i am and i suppose when my ex comes round it lifts the borederm. i mean we dont only have sex, we just hang out too. and my bf isnt really there all that often, we work together but dont see each other THAT much outside work
tho ofcourse im not sayin what im doing is right, i think im tryin to justify it in my own head really.
in answer to your question, there are lots of different answers.
borderm, loneliness, the danger involved, the risk, the excitement, the feeling of being wanted... the list goes on.

I do not see how you can call it a relationship, cheating is cheating, There is no excuse for it, if you want several different partners, make sure each and every one are aware of the others.the problem is when some one cheats and gets caught. I do not want any one in my life that cheats as there is no trust ever again.If my partner said he wanted several partners I would tell him I was not interested, but he was now free to pursue his desires

Maybe revenge, feeling of rebellion, repulsive "did it once y not again", sometimes it just happends because home is not treating them right and some one else comes along and rub them all the right ways.
plus ppl dont know what "dating means" they rather be in a relationship and then date ha ha...

They cheat because they see it as a game.
The excitement of hoping they will not get caught.
I was told it was because it was different and made them feel young and carefree.....what a load of crap.....it's lying, it's humiliating and for a woman it's putting yourself down.
But then there is a lot of easy folk out there.
