why do women lie when they want something?

another question on Y ans. had a woman saying she wants to step up to a nicer wedding ring to replace the cheap one she lost. One answer told her to say that a new style ring would signify a new chapter of their life and that's better than replacing the old ring with a duplicate.

Why can't the wife just say, "Honey, we have more money now than when we got married and I would like a nicer ring?" Why do women lie and manipulate their guy? I've always been very insulted when someone tries to justify something rather than just being straightforward.

Just because there can always be a few exceptions, a general observation is not to be slighted, as long as the exceptions are very few and far between. Otherwise we can understand nothing at all about human nature.

Yes, women lie and they do so more than their men. And of course there ought to be good reasons for this.

I think it may be because of an inherent sense of insecurity and lack of confidence. Nature has made women physically weaker than men. Although this does not make men superior as such, it does affect the female psyche. I believe that is why they are victim of an inherent sense of insecurity to a higher degree than men.

Even before they want something, especially from their men, they worry what if he doesn't agree to give. This leads to a tendency to camouflage what they really want. Knowing this from past experience, men in turn get wary of them and the vicious cycle keeps feeding itself. As a result, women try to manipulate men and men are wary of them.

She doesnt speak for all women, and you may have misunderstood. Most are sentimental with their wedding rings. I have seen some plain gold bands in between newer bands encrusted in sparkly top grade diamonds. If you were a jeweler, or work for one, it is your job to offer alternatives, so suggest that she sandwich her cheap ring with ones that reflect her more current financial status. You will make her very proud. She gets her new jewelry and a chance to tell the story of her life.

And I get insulted by people who generalise ,men lie too ,more than women in my experience ..as for the ring ,maybe she did loose it ,or maybe she is married to a cheep man who controls the money .If I wanted something I just tell my hubby and we talk .that is the ideal but not everyone can.

Well not all women lie... I am very straight forward with my man, why beat around the bush about things, if u ask more then likely you will receive..Honesty is the best policy

just buy the ring
