well its because a few people think its childish or a little too cartoon-ny, while some other people think japanese cartoons are stupid or like they make fun on the way they talk. Some don't even give it a chance and be bias about it. Becuase there are some animes for children and others are for older people. They dont understand the deep relationships and story lines the animes, there are a lot of good stories and touching moments in anime. People who hate anime is like being a racist because they just classify it without giving them a chace.

Well it depends on the certain person. If someone never even seen an episode of an anime or has and only seen just 1 period. They'll mostly hate it indeed for its weirdness, animation, and just dont like anything japanese related altogether. If some watch it most of the time and hate it. They either have to hate certain parts of the anime *characters, plot, setting, etc* Or just that 1 certain anime series altogether. Some anime fans just bash all anime only to anger fanboys/girls that get tempered very easily on the subject to their favorite anime.
Since there're topics that only concern of people bashing the whole anime genre itself. It's nothing to be concerned of. Life is a full of mixed opinions. If you hate or love anime and wanna speak it out. Just pick your poison and let it all out. And kick out any of the haters or likers that pop in to ruin the party.

When I was 16 I used to hate anime, I thought that people that watch anime where in mature, but now I love watching anime, especially Dragon Ball Z.

Because of the content when comparing to the cartoons here in the US. Anime is more violent than those of the US cartoons, but that's why I like animation, lot of gripping storylines and unique characters.

yea many people hate anime becoz they think its just cartoon and children watch cartoon they never try to understand the story or the things which are shown in anine emotion,fight,sacrifice,friendship everything is better then those stupid serials at the television..

because they find the people who are hardcore fans of anime annoying, well that's just my opinion but there are a lot of reasons like the Japanese customs that are being protrayed in the anime or it could be just bad dubbing.

because fat, pimply-faced fangirls and fanboys, won't stop shoving pocky into their mouths and stop squealing about how this anime is so good even though it isn't or how character and that character would make a good yaoi couple or how they love this character so much they want to marry them. and trust me, it gets really weird when you're 25 or older and still doing that ****, messing it up for the rest of us anime fans.
oh, and because you touch yourself at night.

I personally don't like it because it looks freaking weird to me. I think that it is too unrealistic. I can't get into the storylines. I am old school I guess. I'll stick to things that look like cartoons. I just can't stand looking at the way the people look also.

some people hate anime because they don't see what we see. they would have to see through your eyes. of course i looooooovvvvvvveeeeeeee anime but my sister doesn't so i kindda know why they hate it. they say it's rotting our brains. but what would they know if they never gave it a chance. am i right?

hmm.. people are different. though i think most people who hate anime mistake it as cartoons...or... "made for children". anyway... people do have different tastes. can't blame them if what is good for us, is bad for them
anyway for me, i don't like it... coz i LOVE it.
the plots of most anime are different, they have lots of genre, ideas rooted from their culture..... really creative japanese.
and...
for those...especially to eric cartman who thinks that anime characters are patterned after americans...excuse me but you're wrong. anime characters have large eyes because that is their way of showing the emotions and personality of the different characters. for those who watch anime they know it, and can notice it. the maker of astroboy made it that way because if he'll make the eyes of the characters small just like the eyes of the japanese...how can he show their emotions? kenshin himura is a very good example of having different kinds of eyes.
anime characters' eyes were big not because the japanese are racist. you really think that they patterned anime after americans? [you really think the world revolves on america?] no sir. you're very wrong.
