Training to become a chartered accountant is a challenging but rewarding experience. It is a professional course during which one has to face several exams, training and assessments before qualifying as a chartered accountant. Thus being a chartered accountant can be very demanding and rigorous. The pass percentage of chartered accountants is quite low as compared to other courses because of its tough and difficult nature. CPT » Common Proficiency Test This is the entry level i.e. Lowest/First level at which a student can start pursuing the Chartered Accountancy (professional accounting) course.

Chartered Accountancy as a course should not be too difficult as it is a matter learning the terms used in business and often government to descibe assets and liabilities of a company. A chart of accounts is created by the financial professionals in a company to adhere to the GAAP rules .. GAAP is Generally Accepted Accounting Principles which attempt to make uniform the methods used to classify and assess the financial wherewithall of a company. Each General Entry in a Chart of Accounts has two parts: the debit and the credit which in most cases should add up to $0. A chart of accounts only balances when assets are equal to liabilities. This can be confusing but generally that wanes after a couple of weeks. The complex issues of identifying and classifying a businesses assets and liabilities can be dificult, but if you are taking a course lower that 300-400 you should do fine

It is a very difficult course indeed. Only a very small percentage (less than 10 pass this course every year!).
There is a joke about this. No offence meant to anyone.
"Hoardings were put up all over a town saying that 'Jesus never fails'. A wit had scribbled below 'Let Him take the CA course !' :-) "
