Would it be cheaper to book a hotel room personally in Arizona or is it cheaper to do it through the internet?

Sometimes it's better to go in person because if you're nice and have a pleasant personality you can always negotiate the price at the hotels. I was looking to book a room online there and decided to do it in person, I ended up getting the room $100 less. Just a thought. I'm from Arizona and it's a little easier to negotiate if you're nice.
