I live in the U.S. and i always see commercial of starving children, but it's always in poverty stricken parts of the world. Why don't they show commercials to help children living in this country. We here have a huge homeless problem, with many starving children. So why don't i see commercials about the homeless children here?
And i'm NOT saying those children from poor countries shouldn't be helped.I understand that they probably need it more, but isn't it also true that you have to tend to your own back yard.I hope this makes sense, and does not make me sound like an a**hole.

Your right, I agree with you 100%. We should be helping those in our own country. But those in 3rd world countries, we should send people over there to teach them how to purify water, how to grow food and so on and so forth.

Actually, Larry Jones Ministries (Feed The Children) used to run late-night ads that centered around feeding disadvantaged American children. But I think that group has come under question for certain financial practices.

YOU KNOW WHAT I HAVE BEEN SAYING THAT TO PEOPLE FOR A LONG TIME. I THINK AMERICA SHOULD FEED AMERICA FIRST. THERE ARE KIDS THAT DON'T EVEN HAVE A WINTER COAT FOR WHEN IT GETS COLD NOW THAT'S A SHAME. WHEN MY KIDS OUT GROW THEIR CLOTHES I GIVE THEM TO SOMEONE THAT CAN USE THEM. JUST LAST WEEK A SINGLE MOTHER OF FIVE GIRLS MOVED IN ACROSS FROM ME AND I GAVE HER SOME CLOTHES AND A BOX OF FOOD. I AM THE TYPE OF PERSON THAT LIKES TO GIVE AND NOT RECEIVE.

You're right. I think we live in denial about the poor children here.

I agree. Charity begins at home. People don't get that warm, fuzzy feeling from helping their own.
