It depends on where you are. Most public schools will be closed, but my sister told me that her high school will still be open tomorrow. I can't imagine why. I can tell you that libraries, post offices, banks, and other government buildings will be closed, and there will be no mail delivered.
When in doubt, don't go. If the teacher asks why you weren't there, tell her you thought you had off. Or that you were celebrating Columbus Day. ;)

Usually school is open on this Federal holiday,then they are off later for presidents day,it seems(although they call it planning day).I finally remembered this,and I work at a federal place.I always forget,kids are happy that I forget..not this year,lol.
