It is up to YOU to prove it, not just suspect who did it.

If you are not up to confronting the person you think stole your property, why not write him/her a non-condemnatory NOTE or letter. You can emphasize only that you need your property back because you need it for (a)... (b)... (c)... and could he please return it as soon as possible.
