I came across this term in Robert Ludlum's 'The Bourne Supremacy'. However, geometry is not involved in the plot.

I'd like to know what the term means and how it is used.

It means to think on a mathematical level, too view things from different angles and calculations. I think anyway

It means to view a problem from all angles and points before arriving at a decision. Mathematically there are two answers Right or wrong.

To view situations from all possible angles, taking an overview of what one maybe confronted with. Often taking the most direct route to resolve the problem.
