I'm looking to buy one or more books on numerical analysis. I'm interested in good and up-to-date coverage of both theory and applications, including practical issues. I would be interested in recommendations for both graduate and undergraduate-level texts and reference books.

The link below is to the Mathematics Association of America's (MAA's) bookstore. I already selected the option to search for books on analysis. Some are texts on complex analysis, but, there are also ones covering real analysis.

Look at 'Numerical Recipes', Press, Flannery, Teukolsky, and Vetterling, Cambridge, 1986.

While primarily a programmers 'bible', there are a lot of very good words in it about numerical analysis and error analysis.

I'm partial to F.B. Hildebrand's book, "Introduction to Numerical Analysis" since he was one of my teachers in college. We also covered several topics in his book, "Finite-Difference Equations and Simulations".
