no, i don't believe that there would be slavery as it was. if the south had won, slavery would have continued, but eventually died out. there is no room for it in the modern world. all other societies that had slaves have gotten rid of the idea. the possibiliy is that black rights would not be as developed, they would more than likely be second class citizens or at the beginning of independence.

The Civil War had nothing to do with slavery and EVERYTHING to do with the South wanting to leave the Union.

To answer your question, there would not be slavery today -- just two friendly nations, the North and the South. Kind of like it is with Canada.

To begin with, you need to get over the notion of a "Civil War" Lincoln recognized the Confederacy when he marched troops against their citizens.

The answer to your question is , "no". The invention of the cotton gin and other technological advances reduced labor demands on the large plantations. At this point, the slave holders (10% of the white population of the south), were trying to figure out how to get out from under the slave system , themselves. Read a book called , "Our Peculiar Institution".

ALEX, I REALLY DON'T THINK THAT THEIR WOULD BE SLAVERY TODAY, IF THE SOUTH HAD ONE THE CIVIL WAR.
