copasetic and copacetic are both variations of the same word.

I don't have easy access to a dictionary that tells the history of this word, but I believe that back in the 60's and early 70's, which is when I first knew of the word, that it was pronounced "copastetic", and that's why I came looking this up. Because I thought copasetic was a mis-spelling. According to the online sources I have checked, there is no indication which one is or was first, or whether one is a bastardization of the other. At this point, I'm still not sure. (Former English major and student of the history of the language, which interests me very much.)
