My preferred brands are MAC, Stila, Clarins, Estee Lauder and Clinique - none of which are tested on animals.
One of the best ways of to check a company's stand on animal testing is to visit their web site, which will provide you the information in their FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section.

Well you can't find that in department stores. BUT there is a wonderful line of all natural makeup with no animal testing or animal byproducts (yeah...normal makeup that you buy in the store has animal byproducts in it) in it. The line is called Arbonne. There is wonderful information about it on the following website:
http://www.arbonne.com/
I love this stuff. I'm in the same boat as you - I don't want to put anyone or anything in harms way for the sake of something such as makeup. So when I found out about this stuff, I was so excited! Everything that I've gotten has been amazing from the lotion, to the shampoo and body wash, to the makeup. AND its all natural which makes me happy! Its reasonably priced with small shipping fees. All you need to do is to find a consultant in your area which is pretty easy to find if you just click on the 'Locate a Consultant' button. I really hope that this helped! And whats more, I hope that if you do choose to check this great line out that you love it as much as I have!

None, to my knowledge. I do know that Mary Kay does not conduct, or request on its behalf, any testing of products or ingredients on animals. It has signed the Coalition for Consumer Information pledge promising NEVER to do animal testing at any time in the future. In fact, Mary Kay Inc. issued a moratorium on animal testing more than a decade prior to signing this pledge and it actively supports globally recognized organizations in the search for alternative testing methods.
I am a Mary Kay consultant (this is my 10th year) and an animal lover. For more information on MK's R&D practices, you can read about them on my web site: www.marykay.com/jekki. Click on Product Research & Development, then Ask the Experts. On Putting Products To the Test, scroll down to and click on Corporate Values and Awards.
While you're there, you can enter the $1,000 Sweepstakes, do a virtual makeover and see that the models for Fall fashions are not little old ladies. I hope this helps.

I do not understand. Why not tested on animals? Would u want a product that took 5 layers of skin away at a time? so go ahead do not test on animals, but humans first--has to be tested sometime!

Oh, so you think it's okay that they test that crap on the poor and minorities but not okay to test it on animals that'll be killed anyway. Real humane of you. I bet you support torture and extraordinary rendition too, don't ya?
