Someone to stick with you through thick and thin, to share all of your secrets with, and always be there for you. These are all characteristics of my best friend.

Okay. Since you never wrote an essay before, say hello to brainstorming; because there is no easy way to start an essay.
Brainstorming is when you write all of your ideas on a scratch paper. Once again, write every single idea. Like, how you guys became friends, why you guys are best friends, and all those stuff.
Now, you can choose to write a narrative essay (which would be easier, since it is your first one :D)
Now for the first paragraph, you should introduce your friend (take ideas from your brain storm list).
Second paragraph, you should get into more details of who your friend is, why this person is your friend, and all that stuff (note: brainstorm sheet).
Last paragraph, you should wrap it up, e.g, why it has been great having this person as a best friend. Do not introduce new iseas into the last paragraph.
If you are writing more than 3 paragraphs, just use ideas from your brainstorm sheet as topic sentences.
Hope you write an interesting essay!

when stuck on how to begin ...A good idea is to get a tape-recorder...and just start talking...in this case about your best friend...pretend like you were telling someone about your friend what makes this person special why you admire this person...like he/she is the best because: he/she is always there for me always has 'my back'...and then give a few examples...just talk into the tape like you were conversing with someone who doesn't know your friend and then...play back and take notes, and after that you can flesh it out and polish it up and then youre done....good luck...this really works by the way the students Iv tutored have found it a very useful tool for writting and also study for tests.

Since the topic is A person I admire, it is not very good to write about your best friend as the person you admire, since you are probably about the same age as him/her. It is safer to write about your parent/teacher etc. If you write about your best friend the teacher may deduct marks as it is no t very relevant, depending on if he/she is strict.
How to start it:
In my life I had met many people-however, the person whom I admire the most is undoubtly xxx... ... , the reason being xxx... ...

First, you can start with the definition of what bestfriend is. Go for about 1-2 paragraphs. Then continue with the story itself. For example, you are telling about your bestfriendship with one of your bestfriends or with the group that you use to hang with. Making or writing it as if you are telling or talking to others so the words will flow naturally.

certainly it relies upon on how lots you prefer to place in writing for that one component. For the no longer so preferable component, one medium-sized paragraph is adequate while for the required, you additionally can could separate to 2 paragraphs to make your essay look extra eye-catching. i would start with a brief history of what and where i was a week before i met my friend,
what i was about, what friends i had and what was good about them and not so good.
then i would start the day i met my friend and show where i met them, what was first reactions of both of you, and how your friendship grew, problems you both had to adjust with each other, fun things you did and saw, things you both went though from others, and build it up to the current time, and what your dreams are, your friends are, and goals of both as a team and separate plans......

"a person i admire" need not neccessarily your best friend. it could be anyone that you like or you admire. if you like Lincoln, you could talk about him or even your dad.
