We have 3 new "super centers" within about 15 miles of my house. I go to only one of them because the other two are so filthy. Stock piles in the isles, bathrooms with toliet paper everywhere (except the roll), and maybe 3 cashiers with 10 or 15 people waiting in each line to pay. They quit using the "self pay" lines after the hurricanes. The reason was "increased shrinkage" (stealing). Oh well, I still have one to go to!

Yes they are! They're popping up just about everywhere. And since high quality senior citizen retirees that greeted you when you got there (which for the record, was the corner stone of their secret) became scarce they started hiring every redneck hick that could mispronounce the "Welcome to Walmart" greeting that we'd fallen so in love with, that we allowed them to be come a huge juggernaunt of a corporation.

The Walmart stores where I live are not dirty and the associates are not always nasty but not that friendly either. They could work on that. Sometimes, there are nasty customers too. They might give the workers a hard time, and maybe ruin their day, thus reflecting that on the rest of the customers. Not that I'm justifying their behavior. Walmart is pretty big on promoting Customer Service, but I don't know, I think I can understand your question.

By the way, I don't live in an upscale neighborhood in case you're thinking that, but it is rather decent.

I will mention that "Customer Service is not a Department but an Attitude." Saw this in a poster where I worked, and I always remember that, because it's important to give great Customer Service, with a smile and the whole works, because if it wasn't for them, we wouldn't have a job. Almost anywhere we work, if not everywhere, we deal with Customer Service. It's the right thing to do, treat everyone right. I worked in retail stores for quite a while, so I know what I'm talking about. Take care!

YES. I am an ex-associate and hubby is currently still there. The company is going through alot of changes in corporate mgmt. Soon you will start seeing everyone in blue shirts and khaki pants---no vests. One of the newer corp.mgrs, used to be with Target. So, things are DEFINITELY changing. Also with all the new stores opening. makes for more positions to fill. With being desperate to hire people----customer service sucks. Keeping quality associates is harder now too-----since all the upper mgmt wants to be more greedy than Sam Walton was.

attempted to shop there recently and could not even get a shopping cart, there were people everywhere, like roaches. the store looked really bad and in total disarray. i turned right back around and walked right out. That's the 3rd one i've been 2, all have been disappointing. When they first opened in my area, i enjoyed doing my nicnac shopping there. now it's a total headache!

....don't think i will ever go back!

Each store is subject to the conditions set by the managers, so some will be declining and others keeping up a good standard.

Yes, they are becoming nasty. I do not like to use the bathrooms, unless I really have to go. Thankfully, I have found a few employees that are still nice, but they are in the minority at those stores.

well about the stores being dirty, it depends what wal-mart you go to. About the workers their, what do you expect? They work hard for minium wage. What decent person would work their? Maybe someone with a record thats needs a job.
