I was on a plane. I was flying from Ibiza to Madrid, Spain. I was in the Navy stationed in Rota, Spain. We got to Madrid and everyone was taken off the plane..rerouted through security twice..and then off to are connecting flights.I had no clue what had happened..a lot of the people were looking at me because I was American but, I didn't know why. I got home and my neighbor met me at my front gate and all he could say was leave your bags you have to come see this...I walk into his house and I see a Jet Liner fly into building one..My first thought and the first thing that came to my mouth was, "Is this a Movie? What Movie is this?" and my friend says brother thats the news. I almost fell out of my chair..I'll never forget that day ever....

I was in New Zealand and waking up to my radio alarm (actually in New Zealand it was Sept 12, 2001).
I thought it was a hoax.
I finally turned the TV on a couple of hours later, got goosepimples, sat down and cried.

It was the most awful thing I think I've ever seen in my life!

I can't imagine how terrible it was, and still is, for those involved or who lost friends and family.

I was taking a nap. I had a 7:30 class and when I got back to my dorm I went back to sleep. After about 40 mins or so I heard a loud banging on my door which totally freaked me out I thought our dorm was on fire but knew something bad was happening. So I open my door and it was my RA Kat who was crying like crazy. I asked her whats happening and she said the world trade center is gone and we are under attack. I felt like I was in a dream. She repeated three or so times the whole thing sounded unreal and finally she said turn on the news. So I did and was terrified. Our school TCU immediately cancelled classes and we didnt have school for a few days because alot of students parents died in the attacks.

I was at work listening to the morning show on the radio when the dj started talking about a plane hitting the towers. I was in shock for about half the day and angry for weeks there after. I felt very sad for the people who died and the families that were affected.

At home. My granddaughter told me to turn on the TV. I thought it was a scene from a movie. Just couldn't believe it was happening for quite awhile. I felt devastated.

Later I found out that the men had resided in my home state of FL, and had gone on a gambling boat 8 miles from where I live. I have been on that boat.

I was at work, getting ready to facilitate the morning group in a psychiatric hospital. The TV was on, and we thought it was a movie. When the reality sunk in, I got nauseated and we bent all the rules that day to watch the events on TV and share in each others grief. We were ALL attacked on 9/11/01. God rest the people who actually died in it!

I feel really bad for my story, I was at work (in an office) and my boss told me what happened, and I laughed. Not because I am an awful person, but I thought she was joking, I never thought that something like that could ever happen to us. I remember no one worked for the rest of the day, we all sat around whatever radio we could find and listened to whatever news they could give. It was such a sad day.

I definitely remember walking to the bus stop before going to work and thinking what a beautiful day it was. It was sunny, with a clear sky and warm in Portland.

I first found out looking at Yahoo! news online. I couldn't believe it and I rushed to tell my co-workers at work... everyone was in front of a TV in a conference room watching the scene in New York. Many were upset. Many customers who called us at work that day didn't mention the ongoing events, but you could tell people were angry, impatient and upset.

I was on vacation in a motel room in Oregon. My husband was watching TV and said a plane had crashed. I got up to see what he was talking about, and then the second plane crashed. My husband thought the second plane was a news crew plane that was reporting on the first crash. But I knew instantly that it was a terrorist. I don't know why I knew, I just did.

I live in Australia so it was 11pm and I was in bed. When I saw the news the next morning I felt angry, sad and disgusted. Angry that this had happened, sad for the family and friends of the victims, sad for the survivors who would have to live with this nightmare for probably the rest of their lives and disgusted that there were people in the world who would have so much hate and intolerance in them that they would kill, injure or destroy the lives of innocent people because of propaganda and crazy beliefs.
