...such as wearing make-up or dying your hair (eg- blonde just because they say they have more fun) or even behave a certain way and the way we speak to people. Is it because that's just YOU or do you think you (or others) do this to impress people?

Do you think also that people that do it to impress others are unhappier and insecure as opposed to the ones that do these things just to make themselves happy?

i think that most people ( me included ) do it for both reasons.
it's not really that i care that much what people think of me, but when i wear makeup etc. i can tell that people think that i look better and that in turn makes me feel better about my self.

the way i speak to people is just who i am.

and i think that it depends on what it is that the person is changing about themselves, if they change how they dress, talk, and how they do there makeup to make a really Conservative person more comfortable around them. i don't think that means the person is insecure. but if there changing themselves to make people think that they're cooler then yes i do think that means that they're insecure and less happy with them-self then other people.

What if it makes you feel good to impress other people?? I dyed my hair blond because I like the attention it gets from my husband... I don't look at it like i am insecure or I would hate myself if I didn't get the attention. In short I do it for both... I take pride in the way I look and it makes me feel good when other people do to... As for acting a certain way... nah, If you don't like me then try really hard not to listen.

The bottomline is to make yourself presentable to your friends. It is for them to judge your ways of how impressive are you.

I CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING THAT I DO TO IMPRESS OTHERS. MY DAUGHTER SAY'S THAT I TALK ON THE PHONE WITH A SOFTER VOICE, RATHER TALKING TO SOMEONE FACE TO FACE IN MY NORMAL VOICE.
