Are you using a Macintosh computer? If so, select what you want to copy with the solid arrow tool (hold the mouse down as you sweep over it), when it is highlighted press command and C on the keyboard, for copy. Command is the key with the little apple or little obscure flower. Then open the macro page you want and hit command V for paste. Make sure you are in viewing mode and not preview. Any time you are using a Mac the item that you have selected to copy and paste will stay on your desktop until you select something different. If you are a Mac user-then I apologize for making this sound so condescending.
