First let me address this fact (to help me when it happens, cause I know it will) I know there will be some who will not have the intellegence to wrap their mind around this. And some who do not even have the intellegence to address this in an intelligent manner. Now with that said.
Have you ever encountered or yourself thought on a problem or situation, till you pick it apart. It becomes so deep it is confusing. I mean literally disect, until you are in a state of total confusion. Sought after an answer till you relize there is no answer and seek that answer more and more. You feel like you have to much sense for your on good. You plan, organize clean and think, in an constant effort to stop or make this problem workable, with every concieveable thought you can empty from your mind.Only to find you are right back at square one with more questions, more confusion, and exhausted. Sometimes I wish I didn't have the ability to examine a problem to death, and go throught this cycle over.

Where does it stop? It is never ending. One question leads to another. One answer leads to another analysis. One decision leads to another decision. And on and on and on!

Examining a problem to "death" as you put it, is not the problem. Many of us have that ability. The difference is, is that it exhausts you and you cannot seem to come to a conclusion or idea of how to handle the dissected parts. To me, it sounds as if you have obsessive compulsive disorder. I say it sounds like, because you obviously cannot be diagnosed over the Internet. Have you visited a therapist to discuss this in person? It may hold the answer you have been looking for. Good Luck and Good Health.

Believe it or not, that's why the religion of Zen Buddhism and other Eastern modes of thought were created - because they came to the same conclusion, that thoughts and decisions and analysis are never-ending and actually just keep producing more problems. You have to keep thinking, but you need to somehow transcend all that too for your own good and well-being. This is also why having a sense of humor is important - it transcends the process of analysis and over-contemplation, but doesn't completely abandon it.

Ultimately the solution to most problems is wisdom, and not just raw intelligence. It doesn't really matter where that wisdom comes from, but raw thinking alone doesn't actually solve many problems. People with high IQs don't necessarily produce all the answers. Aggressively analyzing a problem doesn't really show you the best solution, it just shows you the parts.

I understand what your talking about...it is the curse of an analytical mind. first you have a thought and then you Analise that thought in all possible ways, trying to suck the marrow from the idea of the thought...once it is done you start to put the new understanding of the thought into scenarios of all forms to once again see how to apply the new understanding of the thought.

you find you exhaust your mind and completely forgot what started the whole thing in motion...then you remember the original thought and your off again.

I use to be like that as well...I learner a vary valuable tool...its writing things down, you will be amazed at how putting your thoughts on paper will help the process slow and stop. it doesn't matter how many pages you write about the one pore thought because once you have exhausted the thought you can look at the beginning again....believe it or not that stops the process.....its all about getting your thoughts out of you head and to a concrete form. you will see what I mean if you do this.

I'm the same way! Sometimes I find hope and think I might have a solution, but just end up at a dead end and have to start over again. Other times I'm just frustrated at the thought that I might never get to that solution. There is a concept of just accepting things as they are and moving on...but unfortunately I'm not that kind of person.

At least I know that thinking and trying to solve things only strengthens the mind. So keep trying and maybe one day we'll get the result we seek.

Sanity or insanity is a psychiatric term and a criminal definition. the certainly definition would desire to be rational or irrational. One would not 'lose' their sanity, yet as a replace turns into so no longer able to handle certainty, they might now no longer be rational. They as a replace develop into paranoid, delusional, and so on. In non secular words, insanity can exist from an outdoors rigidity or effect. because of the fact the spirit international has develop into attentive to a place of unspeakable torment having been created by potential of God, wherein they see everlasting internment, they have quite actually lost all potential of clarification. they're certainly insane. have been they to inhabit a individual, that individual could quite actually be insane. it truly is written in scripture that 'while the angels of Heaven observed the area God had arranged for the demons and the angels who had rebelled, their misery and horror of the area develop into overwhelming'. well, my first opinion, is that you don't have to be "intelligent" to understand what you just asked....all you said was that you think about things too much. That being noted, I think that you may have a psychological problem. You may have OCD...if your obsessing over a question, thought, or idea in your head. If it affects you in ways like exhaustion and time wasted, you might want to see a doc. I do that sometimes, just not to your extent. Sometimes i'll be lost in a thought that brings up a question or two, ill analyze and analyze with no real solution, and end up pissing myself off for confusing myself...i know how you feel and sometimes it sucks {sometimes you feel like you were 'sooo-close' to some type of explanation, and its gone quicker than it came} so my opinion is, its ok to ponder and its ok to be lost in thought, but if its affecting you negatively, then you should see a doctor..good luck

Your question shows that you have a keen, analytical mind, but with a tendency to over-analyze.
Myself, I'll think about a problem until I reach a resolution & then stop. I do tend to get sidetracked, however or go off on a tangent. But I sometimes stumble on solutions to other problems that way. So, my problem is getting off course, rather than going too deep.

I understand what you are trying to say, because I do the exact same thing with a lot of things. I sometimes too get exausted by thinking and dissecting it too much, and I don't think it is a problem, it is just us humans trying to find a better answer for what we already 'logically' know, as some people put it.

Hmmm, heres a problem for you to ponder. Have you ever considered that you are not your brain? Maybe you are conciousness, pure energy, using your brain. Maybe you should try to quiet your mind and let answers flow from somewhere deeper. A knowingness is so much simpler than an over analysis and conclusion (or not).

i have a tendency to dicet problems thoughts and emotions. The reason i do it is that i want to come to the most logical conclusion instead of jumpin in head first. I have also harnesed the ability to set it aside or detach from it give it a rest and come back to it later so that it doesnt drive me mad thinking about it.
