I am anti-marriage. Fine to live together, be committed to one another, etc. but why does one need a piece of paper to obligate them to come home at night? Your already obligated by finances and emotional tie-ins. Isn't it a bit redundant? Not to mention, marriage with out a pre-nup (no matter who you are) can be financial suicide. Nothing is stopping the other person from requesting spousal support etc.

No, marriage is not for everyone. Some people are naturally loners, and prefer their own company.

However, I meet a lot of women who SAY they are better off alone, when really what they mean is, they have given up hope of meeting someone. They're just trying to convince themselves that being single is OK, because they're too shy or too discouraged to get out there and meet a man.

I say, don't get discouraged. I've just got married again at 52. If I can do it, so can you!

I agree... I have several friends that have not been able to find a man that they could put up with them living in their home full time... they're all attractive... but to have a man just because it's what everyone thinks you should is lame... my daughter is one and she says she's not going to settle for just anyone... to her have a man full time in her home is like taking on a second job as a maid and cook and laundress... the only bonus in a marriage with a man... is the income... for men it like gaining a slave... live and love who you are and be free... great thought to comment on!!!

I believe that people can do greater things when not married... however, I think the abscence of children can really create a successful life tot he fullest, but that's only opinions there honey.

singleness is a gift, companionship is too... everyone wins.

Marriage is not for everyone. If you are happier being on your own, then that's the best thing for you. You do what makes YOU happy, not to please other people. It's totally your choice!
