It shows two things, the first is that we have the right to disagree and voice our opinions.
The second is that we have grown men and woman, who blindly follow party lines and cannot or wont think for themselves, or do anything that is good for America.
It shows how penny ante politics are in this country.

Nope. It shows them that in a free democracy you can hold these sorts of debates.
Can't do these things in North Korea and Iran.
You see, when the government has gone completely whacko...we can call them on it.
It's fun having freedom isn't it. Let's spread some more of it eh?

No, it does not. It never has in the past, but certain dishonest elements of present-day political entities pretend otherwise.
