Is it true if we say that in the 1947 baseball season, the Dodger won the National League pennant largely because of Jackie Robison?

Unfortunately Jackie Robinson was not signed by the Dodgers until 1945, he spent the 1946 season in the minors...It wasn't until he was 28 years old that he finally made his major league debut...Jackie was good his first two years but it wasn't until 1949 that he became a great player...From 1949 until 1953 Jackie Robinson was one of the best players in ML baseball...His career began to decline in 1954, until he retired after the 56 season...

IMHO Jackie Robinson's best season was 1951 - BA-338 OB%-429 SLG-527 - He played Second Base with a fielding % of .992 and RF(range Factor) of 5.50 and he turned 137 DP in 150 games ...Robinson was also a part of my favorite team of all time the 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers, what a team - Duke Snider - Roy Campanella - Gil Hodges - Pee Wee Reese - Jackie Robinson - Carl Furillo - Jim Gilliam - Etc....

The 47 Dodgers were a solid team and jackie Robinson was a big part of that team, I don't know if I would go so far as to say they won "largely because of Jackie Robinson" I would be more inclined to say he was an integral part of a very good team...

Bruce Edwards C - BA-295 OB%-360 SLG-418
Jackie Robinson 1B - BA-297 OB%-368 SLG-427
Eddie Stanky 2B - BA-252 OB%-367 SLG-329
Pee Wee Reese SS - BA-284 OB%-408 SLG-426
Spider Jorgensen 3B - BA-274 OB%-356 SLG-410
Dixie Walker OF - BA-306 OB%-408 SLG-427
Pete Reiser OF - BA-309 OB%-411 SLG-418
Carl Furillo OF - BA-295 OB%-345 SLG-437

Of course, he was a real star and an impact player. Lets not forget Larry Dobey in the American league, he was the 2nd black player and he went through a lot as well.
But Jackie was a real deal superstar, of MVP caliber, no doubt.

He was a great player. Check ESPN classic once and a while. Sometime they play the old WS games. You can see for yourself.
