K Annon is a useless limp d**k. He's not going to do a damn thing except demand that N Korea not do it again. When will people understand that the UN is completely USELESS?

Exactly, finally a person with knowledge! I know for a fact the U.N is not going to do ANYTHING. Just like in the Israel- Lebannon case!

Kofi Anan is not the dictator of the UN. He has no power except that of persuasion.
The power is in the Security Council and China has a veto. Guess what it's going to do?
As with Darfur and everywhere that it has financial or political interests?
Anan will be replaced at the end ofr the year with a South Korean you will probably like even less, but he's been chosen for just that reason: he has no charisma and is unlikely to do much.
The idea is to get countries to talk in the General Assembly so they don't go to war. Sometimes it works, but you never know that because then . . . there's no war.

The U.N. is not the world police. We are not the world police. North Korea and it's nuclear proliferation problem have been on the map throughout the reign of King George. But hey, there's no oil there!! They are ready to test a device--throw it in a missle and send it over to us via air mail--and were starting civil wars with muslims over oil? What the F$%K???? Unlike our country's problems which can be directly blamed on it's president--the U.N. president is not to blame for North Korea's actions. We run the U.N.---our current leaders inability to comprehend or install a foreign policy is and has been the main problem.

The UN is a joke and should be disbanded. It allotts equal moral ground to every nation, when obviously some nations deserve to be punished/stopped for crimes against humanity. Frankly, I'm glad the UN has so little power, because what the do have is sorely abused.

What do you want them to do. The only way too stop them advanceing if we go intol all out war which whould be wrong North Korea has the rights to advance is nuclear abitlities for the same reason america does, cheep energy and for military reason. North korea has more too fear from us then we do of them America is the only country who has ever use Nukes in war and they we done it twice. America is blinding its people as it slowly takes over the world imposeing its will as law of nature and rewriteing its very history.
