Yes as long as it has a great beat what difference does it make. i think that record companies help stereo type what music certain people sing, which is very wrong. A black female could sing like Janice Joplin if she wanted to.

Please elaborate. Do you know of a black female rock singer that can't get a record deal? Do you feel that there are a lot of black female rock singers out there? I personally don't know of any. I'm not trying to be a smartass, but I really don't think there are that many black female singers that sing rock or heavy metal, I assumed that's the direction you were going, since there are a ton of pop black female singers.

Yeah, if an artist is good I will listen. I'm one of the most ecclectic people I know when it comes to music. If I like it, I like it, doesn't matter what it is. My cd collection contains everything from bluegrass to heavy metal.

Yep, if I'm feelin' it. But if a white guy can rap, I don't see why a black rock group can't survive. At one point in time, a lot of people loved hootie and the blow fish. Maybe this group don't have the sound or sexual image the are looking for. I find that the music industry doesn't favor certian people by their size not their ethnicity.

yeah if it is good. i dont care what race it is. However, let me warn you that there aren't that many black women who sing in rock bands because culturally rock music is a white thing. Little girls relate to those who they can identify with. There isn't a black Pink or Gwen Stefani. Instead, they idolize Ashanti, Alicia Keys, and Faith Evans among others.

Is there someone who doesn't consider Tina Turner's album Private Dancer as rock? I've been listening to her since I was a little kid. So, yeah. I do already.

Sure I would if it was good.

Record companies think they know everything until they are shown otherwise.
