ok I dont speak english very good but here I go the cell is made (very roughly xplained) by the nucleum, the citoplasm (think an egg the withe is the citoplasm) and that important part is made almost of water ( they also have gogli aparat, centriosoms, mitocondrias, and stuff that I dont remember) the cell needs the water to transport and procces of the nutrients, if you are dehidrated the cell wont have enough water to make the nutrients circule and they can produce to many sugar or dont do their functions)

sorry is the best I can do without a better medical vocabulary in english I hope this helps

Water is the basis of life,it is called the universal solvent. It dissolves about 98% of all the substances present on the earth.
In a cell many minerals, molecules and substances remain dissolved in water. The cytoplasm is also made up of more than 80% water.Water ions also help in the movement of molecules across the cell membrane.
In short an anaerobic cell can survive without oxygen but survival without water is impossible.

If a cell gets dehydrated...all cell function stops. There are MULTIPLE reasons cells need water. Water is a necessity for certain reations to take place, certain enzymes to work, osmosis so concentrations of solutes don't get to high, and multiple other reasons.

My best suggestion to you is to look it up online to get all of the reasons in some sort of detail because it would take a long time to describe it all....
